As the race begins in 2010, it starts off with many bumps and turns in the road with looming budget cuts. I realize that many will face cuts in travel as well as other areas in their jobs and it will be a struggle for participation in MAGPPA. If there is anything that the Executive Board can do to assist you in gaining your points in certification or to continue your service in MAGPPA please let us know. There are many things to accomplish this year. We begin with the First Quarterly meeting to be held at JCJC, then March Purchasing Month Celebration with awards being presented to deserving purchasing and property personnel throughout the State.

MAGPPA will also host a reverse trade show in March inviting vendors to come and meet those who wish to hold a booth. Don’t delay get started today in hosting a booth at our Reverse Trade Show in March. Contact Sam Lemonis for more information. Let your vendors know about the Trade Show as we will also host an afternoon of education for them on learning about E-verify, Pay Mode, and E-Invoicing. If you are aware of any other information that the vendors need to know please send the information to Sam and we will try to have someone there to assist them.
Plans for the 2010 Conference are under way and we look forward to another year on the MS Gulf Coast at the Imperial Palace. The Conference Committee is working really hard to keep the costs down and still offer an educational experience for all. If you would like to work on the Conference please contact Joni Taylor as all assistance is appreciated and needed.

Racing ahead,
