We are trying to reach out and offer a free seminar to all governmental entities whether they are members of MAGPPA or not. These seminars will benefit all state agencies and all governing authorities. Attached you will find a two-page flyer on county locations and agenda for each meeting. You will also find the specifics for the meetings being held on June 10th and June 17th. If you are in any of these counties, please take a minute to call other entities and your counterparts in other counties in your area and personally invite them to attend. We encourage not just purchasing and property agents to attend, but other officials within each entity.
Our guest speaker for the Pontotoc Meeting is Mayor Knox Ross of Pelahatchie. Mayor Ross is the immediate past president of the Mississippi Municipal League and will be our guest speaker at several meetings across the State. Our guest speaker for the Sardis Meeting is Senator Doug Davis who represents Senate District 1 in DeSoto County. I can assure you that each of you will walk away with some new ideas and maybe a new perspective.
As always, our good friend and champion for MAGPPA, State Auditor Stacey Pickering will have a representative from his office there for our afternoon session to talk about legislative updates. We will also have a “question and answer” session.
I challenge you to pick up the phone and invite at least five people and hopefully they will invite five more. Your participation will make this program a success.
